Journey to the Ends of the Earth

As if having a team of 9 here for 10 days wasn't enough excitement, we found out that we have to move by the end of August! We knew we would be gone for most of August and hoped and prayed that we'd find a home within a week. We knew that would take a miracle. (It took our teammate 3 months to move into his place.) It was nice having 9 other people here to keep our minds off of what could have been such an ordeal.

After just a couple of days, our prayers were answered! We found our new home, which is called JJ Home. Our p*st*r who was on the team visiting thinks it stands for Jehovah Jireh Home. We think it's perfectly named.

Although this home is nothing like our former home, we're glad to be able to have a place that we can bring our baby home to. When we first got the news of having to move we were not looking forward to the thought of moving back into the motel we were in when we first got here and waiting months to find a place.

The house is a traditional style house which the owners are thankfully making just a little more Western (by putting in a Western toilet and shower at our request). We're grateful. It was nice having the team here to help us pack up our old apartment in one afternoon! (another miracle) Yesterday and today we moved everything over and are official residents of JJ Home. We have plenty of room for meetings and for the baby and even 20 other kids to run around in. We also have plenty of room for guests as long as you don't mind sleeping on what is kind of like a big front porch.

Room for Baby (This is a foreign concept in this culture. The owners of the house and our national partners don't understand why the baby will need his/her own room, and why it's so "far" from our bedroom...it's just around the corner!)
